Key Points of Planting Techniques for Zuijinxiang Grapes

Zuijinxiang grapes are a hybrid grape variety originating from Europe and America. They have tender flesh, abundant juice, and a jasmine fragrance, making them a high-quality grape variety. Additionally, they are disease-resistant, high-yielding, and have promising prospects for cultivation. Let's explore the key points of planting techniques for Zuijinxiang grapes.

Key Points of Planting Techniques for Zuijinxiang Grapes

  1. Site Selection: Choose a site with higher elevation, flat terrain, deep and fertile soil, good permeability, and drainage. The site should also facilitate irrigation, have good sunlight exposure, and be easily accessible.

  2. Planting Time: Zuijinxiang grapes, developed by the Liaoning Academy of Agricultural Sciences, can be planted in mid-February to early March in Shenyang. Bud break occurs in early May, flowering in early June, and full ripening of berries in early September.

  3. Planting Method: Zuijinxiang grapes are suitable for cultivation on pergolas or trellises, preferably using a "double cross" trellis system with plant spacing of 0.8-1 meter × 1.8-2 meters. During planting, ensure that the roots are not planted too deeply to facilitate future growth.

  4. Fertilization and Irrigation: Watering is mainly done during bud break, fruit enlargement, and dry periods in autumn. Methods such as irrigation, micro-irrigation, and drip irrigation can be used. Fertilization should occur approximately five times throughout the year, including basal fertilization, bud induction fertilization, fruit enlargement fertilization, color change fertilization, and fruit picking fertilization.

  5. Tree Management: After shaping the tree structure, prune or thin out the mother shoots every winter to promote renewal. Leave 2-3 buds for pruning. To control tree vigor and ensure quality, timely thinning of flowers and fruits is necessary, leaving approximately 13-14 spikes per flower cluster, with generally no fruits left on the main stem.

  6. Flower and Fruit Management: Zuijinxiang grapes have large berries, so to achieve high yields, it's necessary to thin the clusters. When the flower clusters are 10 centimeters long, dip them in 5-10ppm gibberellic acid to ensure elongation. After full bloom, use 15ppm gibberellic acid + 2ppm chlorpyrifos + 200ppm streptomycin to protect the fruit.

Above are the key points of planting techniques for Zuijinxiang grapes. Of course, achieving high yields requires attention to many details, such as selecting seedlings and varieties in the early stage or preventing diseases and pests in the later stage.
